My name is Amy Kraning. I've worked at Heritage for over 5 years. I have had numerous pets in the past, but none currently. My specialties include cooking, cleaning, laundry
and pet sitting, not all of which are done at Heritage. Technicians here work closely with Doctors and clients to make sure your pet is well cared for. We clean your pet's teeth, trim nails, express anal
glands, assist and monitor during surgeries, answer questions and so much more. Welcome! Feel free to ask any one of us questions. |
Hi, my name is Cara, and I am a veterinary assistant. I have been at Heritage Animal Hospital since June of 2007. I am currently living back home with my parents and 3 siblings
while I am back in school to get my teaching degree. I hope to teach high school science next year. In my free time I like to do anything outside, whether it be walking my 3.5 lb. Maltese Bella, or hiking a
14,000 foot mountain in Colorado! I love working at Heritage with all the animals and helping with any questions you may have. |
Hi, my name is Cari, I am a veterinary assistant who has been at Heritage Animal Hospital for 10 years. I share my home with my husband Jamie, a chocolate lab "Jurni",and our
cat "Al Pacino".We are expecting our first baby in March. In my spare time I enjoy working in my garden, spending time with my family and friends, and going on walks with Jurni. I take pride in working with
animals and helping clients. |
My name is Amy Ebben. I am a Certified
Veterinary Technician. I graduated in 2006 from Hortonville High School and then in 2008 from Madison area Technical College in the Veterinary Technician program. During
my time at MATC I adopted 3 animals; Evvy my rabbit, Sissy my Scottie mix, and Papoose my cat. One of my favorite things to do as a technician is lab work. By examining the contents of blood, urine and
yes even feces you can tell a great deal about what is wrong with an animal. When I am not at work I enjoy reading, walking my dog and eating at weird restaurants.

Hospital team.

Hi, I'm Joan a Certified Veterinary Technician. I am a 1986 graduate of MATC and have been with Heritage Animal Hospital since 1991. Many of those years have been part time due
to having 3 boys; Josh, Matt and Nate with my husband Tom. I also have a golden retriever "Willow" and 2 geriatric cats, "Abby" and "Emmy". I like to spend my free time outdoors biking, rollerblading and
walking Willow. As a mom, I spend a lot of time as a chauffer and getting involved in the kid's activities. After so many years in this field, I still enjoy the challenges that come with improving the health
of your pets at Heritage Animal Hospital. |

National Veterinary Technician Week has been celebrated annually since 1993 to recognize veterinary technicians nationwide for their contributions as members of the veterinary
health care team. To help celebrate this week we are highlighting the veterinary technician members of our team at Heritage Animal Hospital. The Certified Vet Techs on our staff all attended
school at Madison Area Technical College as part of the Veterinary Technician Program. This involves 2 years of schooling and a summer internship in between. There is now an accredited school in FonDuLac
offering the program. The Fox Valley Animal Referral Center offers a course in veterinary assisting. After graduation from the Vet Tech Program, a Vet Tech must pass a written state exam to become certified.
They are also required to have 15 hours of Continuing Education biannually to maintain their license. The Veterinary Assistants on our staff have been trained on the job. They can do many things that
our Vet Techs do such as restraining pets, run laboratory tests and helping with x-rays. They are also cross-trained to help out in the reception area as needed. The Vet Techs at Heritage are like a nurse,
x-ray tech, pharmacy tech, lab tech, surgical and anesthesia nurse and dental hygienist all rolled into one! This is definitely a job for a multi-tasker as we are usually trying to do several of these things
at one time. Veterinary Technicians can also be found working in biomedical research, the military, sales industry, education and zoos. |
